Owning a family car is great when you and your partner live and work along the same commute route. But for folks who need to travel in separate directions more often, the only real practical thing to do is to either own two cars or two 2-wheelers or have a system in place where one of them has to travel by public transport system most of the time. To make owning and using a practical family vehicle for people with diverse commuting needs like these, designer Andrej Kregar has created the 2-N-1 2Wheela concept vehicle.

The 2-N-1 2Wheela concept vehicle is designed to combine the roominess of vans with the practicality offered by super-compact city vehicles. The sporty vehicle is composed of two modular vehicles that are capable of detaching and operating as separate vehicles as well as one spacious family van. On work days when people need to travel in different directions, the 2-N-1 2Wheela concept vehicle can be split up into two two-wheeled cars each of which house all the necessary functions of a daily commuter.
When joined together, the 2-N-1 2Wheela concept vehicle gives a couple the space to carry a whole family and their cargo. The vehicle runs on in-wheel motors powered by a battery pack and features a front opening as well as a back door on both vehicles.
