315hp Hayabusa Boom Trike rivals Porsche GT3 and Ferrari F430

Boom Trikes is the Europe-wide leading manufacturer of trikes that develops and produces trikes for the global market as well. Founded in 1990 by Wolfgang and Christine Merkle, the English custom-bike makers are back with a new Suzuki Hayabusa Trike that is sure to take any trike-lover’s breath away.

Measuring 352cm in length by 176cm in width, the new Hayabusa Trike uses elements from the world’s quickest motorcycle including operating elements and cooling system. The strongest production Trike in recorded history, the Hayabusa Boom Trike also borrows the electrical system, the exhaust system and engine from the Hayabusa it is based upon.

The trike offers an incredible power to weight ratio of 2.49 kg per hp which is made even more astonishing by the fact that the bike weighs a mere 500 kg. This means that the 315 hp it generates on the Turbo version essentially puts it in the same league as the Porsche GT3 and the Ferrari F430 when it comes to on-road performance. The suction version of the engine also delivers a massive 197 hp and the trike comes with the circuit, coupling and brake systems on the handlebars as the motorcycle does. This allows the biker to maintain optimum control of the bike even at higher speeds and while executing dexterous maneuvers.

The engine on the Hayabusa Boom Trike rivals the torque output of passenger car engines and displaces an incredible 7,000 r/min which can max out at 11,000 r/min. The 1300 cc engine delivers a top speed exceeding 200 miles per hour thanks to the powerplant’s 155 to 220 Nm torque capacity. The company has not revealed any other performance figures and engine stats just yet though it will really be interesting to see what kind of 0-60 mph time does the Hayabusa Boom Trike deliver. Also, given the stringent carbon emissions policies of the EU, it will be crucial for the trike mod to remain as green as possible for the riders and buyers to avoid hefty taxes.

The redesigned chassis comes with Bilstein threaded shock absorbers with stabilizers, aluminum semi-trailing link and tubular trellis frame which return an exciting performance for the experienced triker.

The German-leg of the Trikes manufacturer hosts an in-house exhibition every year on their factory premises in which they offer fans a chance to tour the factory and even take some of their more popular models for a test ride. The tour includes fresh patties from the barbeque, coffee, cakes and cold drinks which makes the deal even sweeter for die-hard fanatics.
