German car tuning company, ABT Sportsline, that’s been working on tweaking Volkswagen Beetles for years now. Ever since work was completed 50 years ago where the much beloved Bug was fitted with a 90hp VW Bus sourced engine, the company has been tuning Beetles ever since. Now, it has pushed the little car to output a tidy 240 hp as well as adding a front spoiler and 18 to 20 inch wheels.

The result shows a Beetle that looks ready to take on race tracks. Carbon with red trimmings gives it a mean look while headlight covers only serve to add to the aggressiveness. The carbon look deco set gives the Bug a retro yet contemporary appearance to make it stand out from the factory productions. Black brake calipers with the ABT logo complete the look.
We rather love what the company has done to the Beetle although fans of the original will probably be a bit irked at the scale of the makeover. The 2.0 liter turbocharged engine was tweaked to a further 40 hp, making a Bug a mean little machine. An ABT suspension system was also installed to handle the increased horsepower. This bodes well for those who love their VW Beetles but wish they could push it a little harder on the streets.
Customers looking to get their Beetles tuned can approach ABT Sportsline and ask to get bigger alloy wheels of 18 or 20 inches together with high performance tires. Nothing much has been said about the interiors, however, and we’ve no idea what the company has in store. Your best bet is to contact the folks at ABT for a list of custom installations and designs.
Aside from Beetles, the German company has also worked on several Audi models like the A1, A3, A6, Q5 and TT to name a few.
