The 2012 Bentley Continental GTC is powered by a 5998cc 6.0L twin-turbocharged W12 engine that outputs 552 bhp. At just 1700rpm, this remarkable engine delivers a maximum torque of 700Nm that allows the vehicle to reach a maximum speed of 195mph accelerating from 0-60mph in 4.5 seconds. The all-wheel drive power train comes with a steering column-mounted paddle shift that is mated to a ZF 6-speed automatic transmission.
Perfect for driving across a continent or around town, the 2012 Bentley Continental GTC is an exhilarating and rewarding driver’s car. Like every Bentley grand tourer, the new launch offers perfect practical sense, unmatched handling and supercar performance. To deliver a calm, flat ride, the 2012 Bentley Continental GTC adapts to different conditions, thanks to Continuous Damping Control which gives reassuring grip in slippery conditions with its advanced all-wheel drive configuration. To enjoy hood-down motoring on crisp spring mornings or cool summer evenings, the model lets you take the chill off your drive with a stream of warm air provided by a discreet vent just below the headrest in the seat that can also be used to cool the vehicle down. For chilly winter days, an optional neck warmer feature lets both drivers and passenger stay cozy.
For over ninety years, Bentley has been making iconic open tourers. The 2012 Bentley Continental GTC too follows the celebrated tradition and combines engineering and craftsmanship in equal measure. Bentley commissioned an exclusive piece of art to six up and coming British artists to mark the launch of the new Continental GTC. Inspired by a different facet of the model, a work of contemporary art was created by each artist that explored and expressed the passion of the Bentley mark from a motorist’s point of view.
The familiar Bentley mesh grille is flanked by distinctive large inner headlamps with solid metal hewing the face of the Continental GTC from the front. The rear wheel’s haunch features a muscular curve with the front wheel spearing the sweeping bodyline backwards. The immaculately-tailored lines of the Continental GTC are crafted via a technique called super forming. The low, wide proportions of the wrap-around tail lamps accentuate the rear with the upper edge of the small spoiler housing the boot lid fashioned in a distinctive Bentley ‘double-horseshoe’ mode.
The cockpit of the Continental GTC boasts of a contemporary flair that is merged with a timeless Bentley design. The interior of the Continental GTC is filled with white illumination from satin-chrome dials, and the form of the Bentley wings is reflected in the sweep of the fascia architecture. Solid metal, soft-touch leather surfaces and highly polished veneer are used to form the clean, crisp lines inside the cabin that is enriched with contrast hand-stitching and duo-tone hides. Customer chosen interior colors are used to match the rear view mirror, seat belt clips, seat belts and speaker grilles to make each 2012 Bentley Continental GTC a customized creation.
Every control inside the cockpit is fitted within easy reach of the driver including a space for a bottle of water provided in a special recess in the door pocket. Ideal for a wallet or phone, an LED illuminated enclosed storage area is situated just in front of the gearlever. The same hide and veneer used throughout the car is used to finish a detachable case for sunglasses or keys that is slotted into the centre console.
The Bentley brand has been traditionally patronized by royals and the social elite of India since automobiles first appeared in British India. The variety of customization options also makes it a great investment.
