The Mini Countryman is a stunning vehicle in its own right to say the least. Preferred by movie stars, royalty and the average style junkie alike, the pint sized luxury hatchback is considered to be something of a benchmark for other vehicles in its segment. Most people would think that it physically wouldn’t be possible to better the vehicle that has been a crowd pleaser since the 1960s. But we suppose no one told the good folks over at Carlex Design that since they have gone ahead and given the Mini Countryman a swanky new makeover in true steampunk style.

The Steampunk Mini takes the heritage of the unique vehicle into a whole new alternate universe where it channels the spirit of design movement through its refreshed exterior and revamped interior. The Carlex Mini comes with a bunch of bright copper finished bits on the wheels and roof which contrasts perfectly with the hardened matte black finish on the vehicle’s body paneling. Even though the Polish customizer did a brilliant job with the model’s exterior, it is the vehicle’s interior where the makeover becomes truly apparent.
The novel interior comes laced with plenty of brown leather, cooper and brass trimmings on the dashboard and the center console. A faux antique 19th century clock sits right where the airbag would be in a traditional Mini setup. The steering wheel on the model also comes with a novel hazelwood rim to round off the look. The Steampunk Mini took Carlex nine month to finish which means that we really wouldn’t put our money on these being churned out in large numbers anytime soon.
