Cristiano Ronaldo gifts himself a €255,000 Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 for 27th birthday

Just last month Ken Gorin, the CEO and president Coral Gables’s luxury dealership The Collection, presented NBA hunk Dwayne Wade with a brand new $230,000 McLaren MP4-12C for his birthday and we suspect the idea struck quite a chord with Portuguese soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo though he could really find a luxury car dealership to foot the bill for his dream car. The Real Madrid and Portuguese international star gifted this Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 to himself for his 27th birthday last Sunday.

The brand-new matte black vehicle was delivered to a club in Madrid where Ronaldo was partying with his family though we’re not quite sure it really qualifies as a surprise when a car you get as a birthday gift has already been paid for by, well, you! Of course being mere mortal we cannot really understand what goes on in the mind of one of the biggest (and hottest) soccer stars on the planet and what seems like a tacky display of money in front of one’s family sitting for dinner at a restaurant to us may just be “normal” behavior for a well-paid celebrity.

The Italian supercar costs €255,000 ($379,700) and gets a top speed of 217mph going from naught to 60 mph in just 2.9 seconds thanks to a 6.5-liter V12 engine outputting 690hp and we’re sure all that muscle, speed and acceleration would serve Cristiano well when he is trying to escape the pesky paps trying to make a living.
