Double decker bus makes a luxurious beach home in Australia

Getting away for the weekend is what every working person thinks about. The chance to unwind and let the stress of the past week just float away. But most of us can’t afford to get away every few months, let alone every weekend. Which is why creating your own little hideaway is so appealing. Crystal Thomas of Australia is doing just that by renovating a used double decker bus she purchased on online shopping site, eBay. The project is still in the works but by the way she and her friends are going, it’s going to be one comfy, luxurious little space.

The bus didn’t come with a transmission or motor so it was a perfect candidate to undergo such a renovation. Thomas is said to be putting in 10 hours a week to turn her battered bus into a habitable home. Stair and bed lights have been wired and can be accessed by a switch placed near the stairs. Decorative lights have also been installed to give the bus a holiday feel.

The aid of her friends and relatives no doubt helped reduce the renovation burden to a great extent. What is great to see is that this cooperation has literally transformed the beat-up old bus into a place that is actually livable and very aesthetically appealing.

The project has drawn many admirers who are eager to engage themselves in similar work. Her undertaking offers options to those who can’t afford to purchase a home what with soaring real estate costs and provides them with a much cheaper and fun alternative.
