A few days ago we told you about the Dethleffs Mini Globe 2.0 Trailer which liberated campers and backpackers from the restrictions of renting hotel rooms when they are globe trotting on a budget. Though the trailer served as the perfect mobile home on the go when you’re out exploring the world on a bike, it lacked a cooking space which is why we are proud to present you with the Electrolux Cydecar Concept by designer Ying Hern Pow. The concept is basically an all-inclusive mobile kitchen that comes with a battery-run fridge, icebox, an oven and even a dedicated food preparation space that makes cooking in the outdoor less messy.

Though the Electrolux Cydecar Concept is intended to serve primarily as a mobile food cart that can cook and serve freshly made pizzas, we do see it being used as a mobile kitchen that would be perfect for campers and backpackers who don’t want to take a chance with their diet/nutrition needs during their travels. The ergonomic design of the Electrolux Cydecar Concept features Intelligent Mobility in its aerodynamic bodyline that accentuates the maneuverability of the bike rather than being an obstacle to it.
The mobile food preparation/storage unit is perfect for cooking a range of oven-based dishes and comes with a 3.5kWh oven that can cook a standard 12” pizza in 13 to 14 minutes. The timer and the temperature of the oven can be controlled and adjusted via a touch-sensitive console. The unit also comes with a fridge and an icebox as well that helps you keep groceries and other perishables and beverages fresher for longer. The in-built storage compartment allows users to store dishes and packaging materials.
The unit also comes with a dedicated cutting board/food preparation space where users can get all their chopping and peeling done with ease. The polycarbonate battery compartment and storage box add very little weight to the sidecar which is fashioned around an aluminum chassis and a carbon fiber monocoque that allows the overall weight of the sidecar to remain around just 410 lbs excluding the weight of the food stored in it.
The sturdy yet lightweight sidecar is powered by an energy efficient battery pack consisting of 900 high density Li-Ion cells that can power the unit for up to three hours. The battery pack can be charged up to 80 percent of its full capacity in just under half an hour when it is plugged into a quick charge outlet while energy efficient cooling fans and LED lamps ensure that the unit remains as energy efficient as possible.
