At the last year's Texas Mile, Jeremy Freedman shocked the spectators and participants equally with his shitty '97 VW GTI getting over 200mph. Jeremy piloted his black 1997 GTI with black wheels and no aerodynamics to an unbelievable 208.1 mph, thus becoming the world’s fastest GTI. The GTI that had VR6 engine and five-speed manual gear has been modified while the VR6 was being opened up from 2.8 to 3.0l and turbocharged to churn out 800hp. More surprising, however, is the fact that it not only has a ten year-old motor, but the GTI also retained its a five-speed manual transmission, saving for a beefier clutch and the addition of a limited slip differential. Jeremy decided against messing up with the gearing thing and relied on the larger wheels and tires instead to touch the hallmark 208 mph.
