222mph for the Toyota Supra at Nardo

Seems like the double Nelson stopped the clock from ticking further for a Toyota Supra which was based on a Supra of the 3rd generation form the mid nineties, powering through the famous speed circuit in Nardo, Italy. We all know that the record still belongs to the Koenigsegg CCR which put the famous black top in Nardo on fire at a whopping 241mph. Considering that this was the first attempt put in by the twin-turbo charged, 5L V12 engine powered 1000-bhp Supra, ticking 222mph wasn’t all that bad an attempt. Smoky, as the Japanese Tuner of the Top Secret Supra Kazuhiko Nagata calls it had to go through a lot of tuning modifications before pelting it out at that top speed eventually gobbling up $500,000. All this was an attempt to let the Toyota followers know what the next gen. Supra would be capable of. But wait a second! Didn’t we know that it would be based of the Lexus LF-A concept, so what’s the big deal about the Smoky Now?
