A2B, a trike for disabled children

We have seen the scooter for disabled and the elderly and now it is the turn of disabled children to get a trike that is designed especially for their needs. Shabtai Hirshberg created the A2B after visiting a children's hospital in Jerusalem. This bike would help a kid to mount himself/herself on the trike and ride. The child can literally walk into a seated position as the pedal locks the wheels when a child steps on it. The rear wheel is gear based and this makes it easier for the trike to be ridden. Even a small movement results in a much larger on the trike as the steering shaft is cable driven. The trike not only aims at recreation but also independence, mobility and muscle development of these disabled children.
