AC Cars to display an all electric city car concept at Geneva

What if I say this is an all-electric Shelby Cobra from AC Cars? You might think that it has no close affinity with AC Ace. Quite true! But here we have a new concept from AC Cars – an all-electric city car concept. This prototype weighs only 67kg and flaunts a magnesium chassis frame with an integrated rollcage.

This eco-friendly concept will share floor space with the AC Mk VI at Geneva Motor show. The magnesium technology is a joint project between AC Cars and the Israeli company, ALubin. And Dr. Moshe Miller, who has worked with GM's EV for 25 years, is developing the electric drivetrain for the vehicle.

On the other, as the Magnesium alloys has been pushed off from the main structure of the chassis and with corner node joints bonded to close the structure, the chassis can be assembled in minutes and the sections are self-jigging.

Further, it is not known whether AC will build a production version of the car, but it is highly likely that it will sell technology to other car makers.
