A number of eyebrows were raised when Acura showcased their Advanced Sports Car Concept at the Detroit show this year. Unfortunately, the appealing concept was not meant for real.

Is the whole story over? Nopes, Honda/Acura has made a commitment that it will be coming with an updated closer-to-production version at the Tokyo Show in October. The updated show car is anticipated to be in the showrooms by the year 2009 powered with a V-10 engine.

But now, a familiar source has reported that the Tokyo show car too will not be for real. So, it's like going back to the drawing board when things gonna start from the very beginning. Moreover, the Lexus LF-A and roaring new Nissan Skyline GT-R are in their final stages of production and they seem to be set to beat the Acura in the outlets.
One thing more, Acura is sniffing the price tag of $150,000 for the new V-10 car while the NSX was a $90,000 car. For now, I doubt what we are going to see at the Tokyo Auto Show in October.
