"Nobody knows Indian roads better"

Airbus' transparent plane is a new paradigm in air travel

Innovation and futuristic designs are the buzzwords today. Greater the degree of innovation, higher are the sales and customer satisfaction. One of the latest innovations that is on the verge of hitting the aviation industry today is, believe it or not, an aircraft with a 'see through' cabin. Manufactured by Airbus, the concept of a transparent aircraft is almost 40 years ahead of its time. And it's just not the exteriors of the aircraft which are innovative, the interiors too have been crafted uniquely to give the traveler an out-of-the-world experience.

Mood lighting would help passengers relax. An 'interactive zone' would allow passengers to play virtual golf.

Set to revolutionize air travel, the manufacturers have done away with the current regulated class divisions viz. Economy, Business and First class and have instead created personalized zones – the interactive zone and the relaxation zone, which the passengers can choose based on their requirements.

While the interactive zone would be equipped with facilities for electronic games and a bar for socializing, the relaxation zone would cater to those wanting peace and solitude. Those wanting to chill off in-flight, attractions such as a virtual holographic golf course as well as virtual clothes shopping too have been provided.

The seating arrangement too has been altered a bit as the 'see through' aircraft is bound to give anxiety attacks to certain nervous passengers. To tide over this, Airbus has provided seats which can change their shape and size depending on the individual; as well as cut off the aerial view by converting into “holographic pods” for the nervous passengers. For affording a panoramic view to the interested passengers, design modification too has been done by replacing the fuselage with a bone like structure.

No doubt, the design is very futuristic and looks as if it’s made for the passengers of 2050, but then with proper planned implementation in reality today, it has every capability of benefiting the passengers with minimal impact on the environment, and with the end result being a personalized voyage of discovery accompanied with relaxation and interactivity instead of a plain journey!
