Alaska cops mistakes a solar powered vehicle for a UFO

Canadian Marcelo da Luz is on a mission to break the world distance record for a solar vehicle set by fellow Canadians, The Midnight Sun Solar Car Team. The record stands at 15,070 km (9,364 miles) and da Luz has been driving around North America for nearly 2 years in his attempt. But his journey isn't without its fair share of comedy.

Earlier last week, a passerby spotted Marcelo's unusually shaped car and, in a panic, reported a UFO siting to local police. Alaskan police soon caught up with the "UFO" and pulled him over for questioning. Once Marcelo da Luz was identified as human and his car as a solar powered vehicle, the obviously embarrassed cops let him continue his quest undisturbed. Perhaps someone should explain to Alaskans that U.F.O. stands for Unidentified "Flying" Object. Marcelo, however, was unperturbed; this is the seventh time he's been pulled over in his odyssey!
