Auto manufacturers are really making an effort to go green and we have seen the markets flooded with EVs. The VW group has been particularly committed to the green movement without compromising on their classic style or performance. This particular bike concept takes the firm’s environmental concern one step ahead and tries to combine the style of the Audi brand with a svelte, planet-friendly bike design that seeks to change the way people approach urban commute in the future.

Created by designer Arash Karimi, the Audi Electric Bike Concept highlights the ease with which electric vehicles can fit in our environment without being dull or under-performing. The concept responds not only to the urban commuter’s need for efficiency and ease but also keeps in mind the stylistic roots of the brand it looks to represent. The bike concept stands at 90 cm in height with a slender and ergonomically designed frame done in composite material or aluminum.
The bike features a belt chain in Kevlar that would allow it a greaseless operation while adjustable and changeable wheels and adjustable seats allow full customization for customers according to their own personal needs. The LED lights in front and back of the bike further highlight the Audi-ness of the design.
The bike will run on a 550w-750w electric engine housed in the rear wheel frame and will run on a lithium ion polymer battery embedded in the body that would give the bike a 20 mph electric throttle with a 20 km range commute in the city. The bike will come with a built-in cord socket that would let it recharge virtually anywhere.
With international gas prices running at close to $100 a barrel and global warming wreaking havoc at large, the fixed gear bike concept could very well be the face of future inner-city commute.
