Conservation of oil seems to be the mantra behind Audi's Eco Trainer. The company says a proper driving technique can reduce fuel consumption by nearly 30percent. Audi's Eco Trainer keeps track of your driving style and gives you tips that can help increase fuel efficiency.

A display in the instrument cluster shows you top-three gas guzzling accessories and the amount of fuel you can save by switching off each one. Eco Trainer will also advise you on closing open windows when they result in unnecessary drag at high speeds.
An animated screen will get to work every five minutes and show you a grade giving your performance. Then there's the 'Power Glow', a function which will let you know if you are wasting fuel, a rating of one to five will appear on the screen; five points for driving efficiently!
There's more to come, Audi is adding a new option for the MMI navigation that will allow the driver to choose the most fuel efficient route, thanks to the latest generation of accurate and detailed digital maps.
Since alternative fuels are a long way from becoming a viable reality, automakers are focusing more on educating drivers on fuel-efficient driving. Fiat EcoDrive is another example but the Eco Trainer is technologically more advanced with instantaneous ways to reduce fuel consumption.
