The BamTrike appears to be a well thought out idea, at least for a short distance personal mobility vehicle. The design comes from Alexander Vittouris, a student at Monash, and more improvements and updates to the project may be forthcoming. Usage of bamboo as a construction material automatically gives the trike an environment friendly badge, and the fact that woven bamboo compares structurally to fiberglass, helps elevate some safety concerns.

The trike has a recumbent chassis and combines bamboo fiber with Polylactide resin in the construction to reduce complexity. There is comfortable seating for the rider, and also some extra space to carry luggage.
