Battle for superiority: 2011 Bugatti Veyron vs 2011 Koenigsegg CCXR

Bugatti and Koenigsegg are two brands which manufacture the fastest sports cars in the world. In 2011 Bugatti launched Veyron and Koenigsegg introduced CCXR in their new basket. There is always a healthy competition between both brands. Individually, each has their own specialty in making class beating cars. The USP drives the people to go crazy with the new launch. Engine:

CCXR

It’s very important to know the type of engine used. CCXR model by Koenigsegg is manufactured with a couple of supercharging enabled V8, with 4.7 liter capacity. It has got an engine with a very high fuel storing capacity when compared to its previous sports models (about 4.7 liters).

Veyron

This new 16.4 Bugatti Veyron sports model is designed with 16 cylinder engine, which is similar to combination of two V8 engines. In order to charge the engine, it is provided with four turbochargers, hence this engine is known as quad turbo charged V8 engine. Usage of 16 cylinder engine really provides a very good output power and also the high starting torques, which are very essential for a sports car.

CCXR produces an output power of 1018hp with 7000 rpm. It produces a starting torque of 796 lb-ft; at this torque it produces 5600 rpm.

The new Veyron gives an output power of 1200hp with 7500 rpm. It produces an output starting torque of 1106 lb-ft, higher than its counterparts.

Verdict: From above statistics it is very clear that Bugatti has high output power and also high starting torque, making it the leader.

Top speed & 0-60mph sprint, Power to weight ratio:

The CCXR can go up to 250 mph. Having high pickup, it takes 2.9 seconds to catch up a speed of 60 mph. The power to weight ratio is 0.36 hp/lb.

The new Bugatti’s has a top speed of 253 mph or 407km/h. It takes less than 2.5 seconds to go a speed of 60mph.

Verdict: Top speed and the time to catch up 60mph speed of Bugatti is much better than CCXR. Hence Bugatti wins the race.

Fuel economy:

The Koenigsegg requires 22 liter per 100km on highways. On city roads it requires 25 liters on a 100 km drive.

The new Bugatti Veyron needs 18 liters per 100km on highways. In the city ride, it requires 22 liters per 100 km.

Verdict: Bugatti is more economical car than CCXR.

CO2 emission:

Koenigsegg uses the E85, an Ethanol fuel, which is environmental friendly, Hence CO2 emission will be less, when compared to its previous models.

Even Bugatti is environmental friendly and uses the same bio fuel and produces an extremely high speed with less amount of CO2 Emission.

Verdict: Both of them are eco friendly.

Price:

Koenigsegg CCXR is available at a cheaper cost than Bugatti. It is available at $1.8 million.

Bugatti super car is available at $2.4 million or in 1,950,000 Euros. The base version can be bought at $1.6 million.

Winner:

By considering the above features, it is very clear that 2011 Bugatti Veyron has edge over Koenigsegg CCXR in terms of high output power, high starting torque, high pickup and fuel economy. It is also environmental friendly and cost less in total features than its competitor. All these factors make Bugatti Veyron the leader.
