"Nobody knows Indian roads better"

Brett Graham’s ‘Weapons of Mass destruction’ sculpted from recycled tires

What happens to the tires, once they are off the wheels? They’re deemed useless, and often left to rot. Earlier, we introduced you with the wonderful furniture, made while reusing the discarded tires, but here they are made immortal in the art form. One of New Zealand's most accomplished sculptors and a Maori artist, Brett Graham, has recycled them to make amazing sculptures of military weapons. Brett Graham’s sculpture versions that replicates the western 'weapons of mass destruction' were recently put on display at the 17th Biennial of Sydney and are mainly made of MDF, steel and rubber tires. His sculptures include a full scale Russian BRDM-2 scout car and Lockheed F-117 stealth fighter, all inscribed with Maori symbols.
