Climax Cars has announced plans for production of a new car, and the brand new Sports Racer will be aimed squarely at the Atom V8, and the Caparo T1. The British automaker’s new car will be powered by a 4.6-l V8 sourced from Ford Racing, mated to a six-speed transmission. The powerhouse will provide the car with 345bhp and 305lb-ft of torque, while another supercharged version would put forth 415bhp.

To keep the weight low, the car’s body and chassis extensively uses aluminum, resulting in a weight of just 907 kg. Climax plans to produce just 200 units of the car, each for £92,000 ($149k) an amount that is considerably lower than what the Atom V8 or the more expensive Caparo T1 sell for.
