Ferrari creates giant driving simulator to hone F1 drivers

Ferrari has created a new toy for its F1 racing team, and the drivers are really going to enjoy this one. The Scuderia will get to hone their cars and their racing skills on the new F1 driving simulators. This giant simulator weighs in at 200 tons, and has 10 computers, five huge 3D video screens, and a 3500 Watt Dolby Sound System to go along.

Ferrari says the new simulator will help them quickly test technology and drive on new tracks in the virtual world, without breaking any laws. While the simulator does try to resemble real world conditions as closely as possible, Ferrari agrees that nothing can beat driving a real car, but the simulator still does have cost and time advantages.
