There was a time when Ford sold its Station wagons like hot cakes. If not as good as that, at least they were pretty popular. Then they went out and launched the Five Hundred sedan and Mercury Montego which did not do as well at the automobile box office as many expected them to. Even Ford was surprised by the lack of success but the fact is that times have changed and it is not 1980 anymore. While large vehicles are still very much welcome, they may not be the best bet, especially when not marketed properly.

It seems now that the Five Hundred Sedan is coming back with quite a few changes and it is going to be called Ford Taurus. The Taurus X is probably not the best among the class but it is not as bad as most people claim. The Taurus X includes scalloped headlights and Ford's newly adopted three-blade grille. The bumper integrates a broad air dam and fog lamps with metallic surroundings. In back, the Taurus X's clear taillights mimic those on the Fusion. This makes the exterior a lot better than in the past.
As far as the interiors of the car go a variety of seating configurations can accommodate up to seven people at a time. A power tailgate is optional. Other optional equipment includes tri-zone climate control, a voice-activated navigation system, a drop-down DVD player that Ford says offers a clearer display than before and Ford’s Sync system, which integrates phone and entertainment functions into a single voice-activated interface. A 3.5-liter V-6 engine of Taurus X replaces the 3.0-liter engine in the Freestyle. Horsepower jumps from 203 to an estimated 260, and Ford says acceleration is 44 percent faster. So, basically the car offers nothing new or groundbreaking. It is just a revamped and a few extra options are available. It surely is nothing to drool about!
