Each one of us has a certain dream that we like to fulfill. I guess most people have more than one, but all of have that one crazy dream which hovers on the edge of being a possibility and an obnoxious fantasy. Some of us try hard all our lives to gain something and never achieve it. Others are far luckier than that. Geoff Hacker is a lucky guy who has finally achieved the Tear Drop that he had been so craving for. It does not flow out of his though. It races on the road- at least hopefully.

The dream to own a Tear Drop car started early for Geoff. One of his parent’s professors at SIU was none other than Buckminster Fuller, creator of the Dymaxion, and at the age of 5 or 6, Geoff even got to meet the aerodynamic wizard. Since that early age, Geoff has been doing what a lot of us have - collecting cars and just generally being a car guy. A few years back he was able to quench a bit of his streamlined thirst when he got his hands on a Covington Shark, but it’s always been his dream to find an original tear drop.
Geoff finally reached his dream destination as he located and bought the tear drop pictured above just a week ago. It was originally built in 1935 by a family in Michigan, but not much else is known about the history as of yet. Research will be part of the journey of restoration and that process is already well on its way. I hope to see more from Geoff very soon and hopefully we will see the car restored very soon. Now that is truly one gritty man!
