GM Plans third Small Car for Indian Market

Famous car manufacturers General Motors has recently made certain significant plans. By the year 2008, it is planning to launch its third small car. This car will follow the hatchback Aveo U-VA that was launched earlier in the year 2006 and Chevrolet Spark that was released in the year 2007.

Times of India has also confirmed that this latest car from General Motors India will be positioned somewhere in mid of mini-car spark and the premium hatchback Aveo U-VA.

It is also being expected that small car segment in India will grow up to 12% with more than 880,000 units in the year 2006-07.

Ankush Arora, VP of GM India quoted:

“General Motors’ presence in India is incomplete without a strong presence in the small cars category that rules a mass market in the Indian automobile industry.”

News regarding increase in the market share in India by the year 2010 up to 10% from 2- 3% is also making rounds.
