Japanese ‘Lucky Dragon’ boat is actually a fire breathing monster

Japanese artist Yanobe Kenji has created this fire breathing boat monster for Osaka’s Aqua Metropolis festival. The 15-meter long cruise boat has a 7-meter long fire breathing dragon perched atop, which will entertain onlookers with periodic burst of flames.

The boat is named after the Lucky Dragon No. 5, a Japanese fishing boat that was caught in fallout from a US nuclear weapon test on Bikini Atoll in 1954. The artist hopes that his creation will encourage people to take the path of peace, and also do its bit for the local economy and tourism.
