"Nobody knows Indian roads better"

LA authorities to slam shut Ferrari owner's dream garage forever

Ferrari is loved all over the world, so much so that some people don’t wanna miss a look before going to bed or when they open their eyes in the morning. One such man is Holger Schubert, 43, who lives in Brentwood, New York. He built an award-winning 10-foot long 15-foot high bridge to connect his sports car's living-room parking spot to Tigertail Road, so that he could park his 1984 Ferrari 512 BBi within spitting distance of his couch. This bridge has a hydraulic ramp at one end that lets him roll the car into the house using nothing but gravity. Schubert’s garage, with ramp, cost him $1.5 million. He demolished a three-car parking structure for the purpose. But to the dismay of the owner, the whole thing may come to a halt as the Los Angeles officials are about to slam shut forever the garage door that leads to the city's most extravagant parking space.

City planners have withdrawn permission for Schubert to use a bridge to connect his Ferrari's third-floor resting spot, on the complaints of the neighbors who alleged that, although the city approved its construction, it's a safety hazard that sets a precedent that "could degrade hillside neighborhoods throughout the city."
