'Make Your Pick' for the Engine of the Year Award

For the pride of your nation get your engines started and for the pride of your engines don't get anything started but just corroborate that the beast under your cars hood is an entrant at this years Engine of the year Award .

Considered the Powertrain Oscars of the automotive industry, the EOY awards give you a true picture of the best beasts developed last year. Well, if you own anyone of the latest BMWs' you could certainly become proud, as the German carmaker has bagged the award 4 out of 8 times.

The other four winners have been the Toyota for its Yaris and Prius, Honda for its Insight Hybrid and Mazda for the Renesis Rotary.

Other than the EOY Award, there are other awards up for the grab namely; the best new engine, best fuel economy and the best performance engine. These awards are only a month away as they will be distributed on the 9th of May at a public ceremony in Stuttgart, Germany, which means it is high time for you people to make your guesses.

For me the heart says Veyron W 16 but the head says Mercedes Bluetec, ultimately ill go with the head for reasons you already know and bearing in mind that it just managed to grab one at the New York Auto Show I could well be hitting the bulls eye !
