Marrs Cycles electric cruiser gets ready for the road

Marrs Cycles have created this electric bike with the aim of creating cruisers that “ride like motorcycles, but can fall under the same jurisdiction as bicycle.” Handcrafted in southern California, the bike gets retro styling to work with functionality. A lithium ion battery is housed in the wooden veneer to power the 700 Watt electric motor at the rear wheel.

Running on battery power alone, the bike can cover about 15 miles and reach a top speed of 20mph. There’s no pedal assist available, but the range is good enough for most of the uses the bike can be put to. The cruiser costs $6499 and will be available for pre-order soon.
