An electric version of Mitsubishi's 'i car', the iMiEV is the Japanese carmakers’ first venture into the eco-drive category. The name of the 'MiEV' includes the car’s model ‘i’ and is an acronym for 'Mitsubishi innovative electric vehicle'. Though the car is also fitted with a small gas engine, the MiEV primarily uses one electric motor to power the rear wheels and features charging ports on both sides to charge up its lithium ion batteries. A single full charge can last upto 100 miles for the simple, one-speed transmission while its spacious interior houses a stereo, air conditioning, navigation, and a digital speedometer. Talk about going the mile!
