Pedal power meets electric power in Kronosport's EUV

Pedal power has long been used to haul goods across narrow city lanes predominantly in Asian countries. Now, Kronosport, an American electric vehicle manufacturer has unveiled the innovative Van that uses a combination of human pedal power and electricity. The Van has a single driver's seat up front and behind the driver sits a large cargo bay. This container makes the Van an ideal, pollution free, cargo-transport solution, especially for small village counties or even indoors, in large malls.

A 36 volt electric motor does duty in the Van to propel it to a slow 12 mph. Power is supplied by five rechargeable batteries that have a built in charger. Braking is handled by disc brakes at both the front and rear wheels. regenerative braking gives a very nice touch to this vehicle. The entire Van comes in at a light 500 pounds and can lug around an additional 350 pounds as its load.
