Pentagon plans UAV airdrop tests for August

Here's a low-down on a futuristic concept turned into reality. It was always in movies that one would see UAVs help out the distressed soldiers stranded in the battlefield, with no or very little ammo.

But now the Pentagon, has created a UAV which will help soldiers to brave the enemies for long. The all-composite T-20 Arcturus unmanned airplane is capable of carrying 10-pound of supplies to soldiers. It can fly for up to 16 hours at one go and is programmed to navigate waypoints and land autonomously. The Pentagon will put this UAV to test in California, where it will drop 10-pounds of supply using guided parachutes.
