Rinspeed plays around with Fiat 500 to create a more efficient E2

Rinspeed iChange isn’t going to be the company’s only big debut at Geneva, it will have to share the limelight with the Fiat-500 Abarth based E2. The basic tuning idea is pretty simple, the car gets two power modes; one for the city, and the other for the highway.

The “Commuting” level is for navigating through the city. In this mode, the car develops only 60hp but delivers a highly efficient 25kmpl (59 mpg). Once on the highway, the push of a button takes the vehicle to “Highway” mode with 160hp to command. This mode obviously isn’t all that miserly with fuel, but it does have a pretty good fuel efficiency at 14kmpl (34mpg).
