If you are wondering if a car can be amphibious in nature, take a look at the Rinspeed Splash. Not only can it glide over water, but it is a great machine on the roads too! (Can reach 125mph on the road and accelerates to 60mph in 5.9 seconds and on water can reach a remarkable 45 knots). An ideal escape vehicle I would say! Great for secret agents and… ahem… thieves too!

To turn this unique car into a speeding hydrofoil, all one needs to do is to push a button and a hydraulic mechanism transforms the sports car into a propeller-powered boat! My, this really seems great….straight out of a James Bond movie!

Frank M. Rinderknecht, the creator of the car, has taken into consideration the environmental aspect too, since the Rinspeed Splash is powered by an environmentally friendly bivalent turbocharged natural-gas engine. For those not aware, natural gas is a clean-burning fuel that consists almost entirely of methane with near-zero sulfur content.
