Rolls Royce from the Great Gatsby up for auction

Bonhams is auctioning the 1928 Rolls Royce from The Great Gatsby. The Rolls was driven by Robert Redford and has, till date, maintained much of its original form. The 40/50hp Phantom I Ascot Dual Cowl Sport Phaeton with coachwork by Brewster was painted yellow and its seats had to be died green to match the description in the text with the car in the 1974 movie.

It is owned by Massachusetts collector Ted Leonard and will go under the hammer at the Greenwich Concours d'Elegance in Connecticut on June 7. The 40/50hp vehicle is expected to fetch between $150,000 to $200,000.
