Six-wheeled Covini supercar moving to production lines

Ferruccio Covini’s C6W or the Convini 6 Wheel has been in the pipeline for nearly 35 years now. Originally conceived by Covini in 1974, the car could not be made due to technical problems related to a six wheel car. Advances in technology finally made the construction feasible and the C6W was seen at the 2004 Geneva Motor Show, only to disappear again.

This time around, the car will move into limited production, thanks to a joint venture between Covini Engineering and PMI SpA. To be sold under the brand PMI Covini, the car has a naturally aspirated V8 that generates 440 PS. The rear wheel drive vehicle has a mechanical six-speed gearbox, independent front and rear wishbone suspension, 15-inch front wheels and 20-inch rear wheels with Brembo disk brakes.

We sort of like that Covini’s dream is finally ready to become a reality, and besides, it would be nice to see a six-wheeled car speeding off at the 300 kph (185 mph) top speed.
