Speed is the dream of cars. With ever improving technology, new records of speed are set and then broken the very next moment. Nobody expected that speed king Elemento will come on roads when Lamborghini displayed Sesto Elemento in 2010 Paris Motor Show. The fans saw it through six teaser images before it was finally shown at Geneva Motor show last year. Lamborghini announced its production by October 2011.
The most striking feature of this car is its light weight that is due to carbon fiber and it gives thrilling performance with controlled handling. It has a 570 hp engine with a torque capacity of 398lb. It gives 8000-ft rpm torque. A V10 engine with a capacity of 5.2 liters powers this car. If we compare its power to weight it is 1.75 kilograms per hp.
The company has decided to produce limited editions of Elemento due to which the cost is expected to rise up to 2 million Euros. It will produce only 20 units of cars in this edition. The whole body of the car has been designed using a carbon fiber and carbon fiber reinforced plastic.
Till now the Bugatti Veyron had the compliment of the fastest and most expensive car. But now with Lamborghini Sesto Elemanto this credit will come in its favor because Lamborghini declared it as a most expensive car till date and the fastest one too. It can achieve a top speed of 200 mph+ and can be accelerated from 0 to 62 mph in only 2.5 seconds.
The car’s unique and hi tech design with its light weight is not its only feature. It has the tail pipes made from a glass Pyrosic and a ceramic composite can bear the temperature up to 900 degree celcius. That adds one more unique feature to its list. Irrespective of its light weight it can carry 999 kg weight.
With so many features the cost will definitely go up and it is expected to be near $ 2.92 m.
