Terrafugia Transition takes to the skies

Flying cars finally came closer with the flight of the Terrafugia Transition. Terrafugia is already taking orders for its flying car and they just demonstrated that it really does fly. The two seat car, driven by a retired U.S. Air Force Reserve colonel took flight from the Plattsburgh International Airport in New York and stayed airborne for sometime before returning to the ground.

The Transition moves on regular vehicle tires and uses gasoline, and its wings can be folded for parking in the garage or while on the road. It is expected to reach production in 2010, and will cost somewhere near the $200k mark.
