Yazaki shows Linux-based Gauge cluster concept

Close on the heals of 3D Gauge Cluster “proof of concept” from icon icar, another supplier, Yazaki has come up with a fully-reconfigurable gauge cluster of its own. The stylish, open-source Linux based gauge cluster can display multiple levels of information simultaneously, and runs on a thin-film transistor LCD screen running OpenGL graphic system. It can also be customized to show information relating to the needs of the driver. Yazaki’s system is much like that from icon icar, but the use of Linux, being open-source probably gives Yazaki the edge.
