Ferrari V12 powered Arno XI racing boat to hit RM block in Monaco

If you worship speed, then here is a chance to own the Arno X1, which is the fastest motor racing boat (800kg category) in the world. The racing boat comes fitted with a 4.5 liter 12-cylinder Ferrari engine that will make it roar like an angry beast when unleashed. The speed coated ride is fitted with the same engine that used to power Ferrari F1 race cars back in 1950s.

Arno X1 has been created by Achille Castoldi who later joined hands with Luigi Villoresi and Alberto Ascari (both Ferrari GP drivers). The racing boat has been wedged with twin superchargers that will manage to send in chill thrills. This will further inject the engine with the much needed power and make the ride produce 502 bhp power that too at 6000 rpm.

Back in the year 1953, Arno X1 touched a speed of more than 150 mph, which till date is unbeaten and makes it the fastest boat in the world in the 800 kg category. This Ferrari powered hydroplane is incredibly impressive and has been tweaked over the years, in terms of design. Now, the fastest hydroplane will be auctioned in Monaco at the RM auctions that will take place on May 11 and 12 this year.

The design is quite eye appealing and manages to fetch the much required attention. It raced last in the year 1960 and completed numerous fastest laps, which till date stands strong and far from being broken by any other creation in this category. Arno X1 is expected to fetch a good $1.3 million to $1.9 million at the auction. The boat will be accompanied by handwritten notes from none other than Gioacchino Colombo (a Ferrari engineer) and a collection of period photos.

Arno X1 is a true picture of beauty combined with great performance. If you are a serious car collector, then this sure should be on your hot list.
