German automaker PG has collaborated with automobile designer Michael Fröhlich. They created the Elektrus which is a Lotus Elise base electric vehicle. It has been called an exclusive urban e-roadster with a combined uniqueness factor. It has a futuristic look. The vehicle is light in weight because of the use of glass fiber reinforced plastics. The battery can be charged both by charging stations and through solar panels that have been provided at vehicle’s rear part. It has amazing speed. It can go up to 60 mph in just 3 seconds. It has a top speed of 155 mph. It shares 6 percent of its parts with Lotus.

The green machine
It will be driven on electric motor that will be powered from lithium ion battery pack. This battery can be charged at charging stations and also via solar panels. These power panels have been mounted on vehicle’s rear part. This part continuously receives the solar energy. So the green energy comes into play.
Green factor
This new creation has been developed by PG and designer Michael Fröhlich. It mostly follows the Roadster’s tyre treads. The power is provided by the electric motor which draws energy from the lithium ion battery pack. It also has solar power panels that are fitted on the vehicle’s rear. The solar panels are continuously exposed to sun so there is good backup even when the battery goes down.
The powertrain
The Randall Boggs takes inspiration from the Lotus Elise chasis. Its body is made of carbon fiber and composite. The company though is keeping mum on giving the details for the time being. But we surely know the vehicle’s battery pack that will let the Elektrus buyers enjoy a claimed range of about 215 miles. The whole unit weighs about 2000 pounds. The light weight and the power delivery is the major attraction for the buyers. The car’s electric motor has a power of 202 kW and has torque of 350 Nm. The Elektrus can go up from a speed of 0 to 100 km/hr in just three seconds. It has a top speed of 300 km/hr.
The highs
Well for PG Elektrus, the two words that describe it are charismatic and distinctive. It has distinct and wide face. The rear has a large crossed stop lights which stands out from the crowd of other cars. It uses a glass fiber reinforced plastic which makes the vehicle light in weight. It has pretty straight forward and simple design. It is almost free from the potential failure sources. It needs very less maintenance. The battery can range up to 350 kilometers but this value does depend on the user’s driving style.
The battery recharging is no problem. It can be charged via charging stations or can charge through solar energy. The solar power panels are mounted on the rear of the vehicle. These panels continuously collect the solar energy. For people who like a sporty and active driving style have a special option. They can switch back and forth between stick shift and automatic transmission while they are driving. You get to choose between a full bodied V8 sound and Formula one racy car’s sound. The vehicle has commendable sound system. The interior equipment which is a special attraction, body and the battery managing system all make the PG Elektrus a state of the art.
Anything is possible
The modular design of the PG Elektrus can be customized as the way one wants. It can be designed according the each individual’s requirements and needs. In order to make a desirable direct communication and close cooperation, the vehicle is being distributed exclusively to PG. The PG Elektrus makes a milestone in segment of contemporary sports car design. Speed, uniqueness and thorough detailing make the driving experience worth cherishing. It is a sporty and urbane luxury car that has been designed to make your dreams come true.
The lows
Well this Roadster has quite a thing to offer. But you can enjoy its luxury only by making a hole in your pocket. The cost is very high. This can be the only drawback for Elektrus.
Cost and availability
The PG Elektrus will be available at a cost of $367,700 but it could be even higher depending on when it will hit the markets. The company is planning to make 667 cars.
