It’s like feeding spinach to Popeye! Suddenly, a company devoted to style and luxury turns to powerful performance delivery. Bentley, the leading luxury automobile company, recently announced the GT Speed. The car thunders down the road, powered by its twin turbocharger W12 engine that churns out 616 HP and clocks a top speed of 205 MPH. For those who still can’t get a grasp on the matter, such a powerful car from Bentley is the same as having a Gatling gun fitted to your lounger—meaning Bentley plans to floor its competition by coupling power and class.

The engineers at Bentley somehow managed to make the engine deliver extra horsepower (somewhere around 24 HP). This engine was outfitted in the previous GT Speed as well. After the upgrade, the engine can now successfully deliver a torque of 590 pound feet. Weighing in at 5000 pounds, the new GT Speed will be able to go from 0 to 60 MPH in less than 4 seconds. Sure this is not as fast an acceleration as the other supercars, but imagine a palace on wheels that has this acceleration and you get the point we’re trying to make! Bentley is yet to release the complete spec sheet on the GT Speed but experts believe that the super structure is based on the Continental GT W12. The GT Speed also comes fitted with an 8 Speed Auto transmission from ZF that gives the car superior fuel economy. However, considering the weight and size of the car (and the engine’s power), do not expect more than 20 miles per gallon. The GT Speed is a four-wheel-drive vehicle.

Bentley worked in joint collaboration with Volkswagen and Naim to outfit the interiors of the car with the latest in cabin tech, navigation equipment, dashboard display and an awesome sound system. The GT Speed is truly a grand cocktail of craftsmanship and raw power.
