Necessity is truly the mother of invention, and in China- the nation that just loves to give all its vehicles the stretch limo treatment- necessity often means finding ways to make life more comfortable for your entire family. So we’re not entirely surprised that this ingenious five-seater scooter was spotted on a Chinese street. For a while, if people wanted to seat more than two or three people on a scooter they resorted to adding a sidecar to the vehicle but for the maker of this stupendous mod, sidecars were perhaps two “girlie” and he wanted to maintain the two-wheeled masculinity of his scooter.

So he simply added a new middle section to his existing scooter’s chassis, threw in cushioned seats and the massive five seat monstrosity was ready to be unleashed onto the unsuspecting members of the public walking the streets. Of course, we really don’t know whether the owner had to modify the scooter’s modest engine to make it mighty enough to lug the weight of five people around or not.
We wonder how the rider manages to keep this thing upright on the road with the extra long middle section and the extra passengers and no extra wheels! We’re also sure that the vehicle must be a real pain to turn and corner especially in crowded streets. For any of our readers who think that this scooter is a great DIY idea, we would just like to say that doing something like this to your innocent scooters is just plain immoral and driving around in stretched out scooters is also very much illegal in most parts of the world.
