Japanese company Honda has unveiled the names of products that it is planning to put on display during the upcoming 42nd Tokyo Motor Show, scheduled to begin on December 3 and end on December 11. The list released by Honda shows that the company will put on display several electric vehicle concepts, including two- and three-wheelers. The highlight of the electric motorcycle which Honda is planning to unveil is RC-E concept.

This bike in Mike Hailwood colors is looking super-hot. Honda claims that the RC-E is an electric vehicle featuring the functions of a super sports bike. This powerful bike features a 250cc-class compact body. This single-seat bike appears to be a perfect machine for racers. It features Brembo brakes and Ohlins fork.
The machine
Though Honda did not release detailed technical specifications of the RC-E concept, the pictures that was released by the company shows that this electric supersports motorcycle is set to provide the “the joy of riding” to the users. Honda claimed in its press statement that this powerful bike will sport a 250cc-class machine. This single-seat bike has been designed keeping in mind the needs of the racers because it will have high-end Brembo brakes and Ohlins fork.
What’s good
Recently released lineup by Honda for the upcoming Tokyo Motor Show includes a concept bike named the Honda RC-E. This electric super sports motorcycle will feature a 250cc class machine. The best thing about this sports bike concept is that it is all-electric, which means that it is eco friendly and it is expected that its efficiency will be better than the gasoline-powered bikes available in the market. Since Honda is renowned for manufacturing world-class products, we can assume that the RC-E concept would take the company’s legacy forward.
What’s not so good
As I mentioned earlier, the RC-E concept is an all-electric bike, which means that it is powered by rechargeable batteries. The major problem with the electric vehicles is that there are not sufficient recharging outlets available where we can recharge the batteries. One more drawback of the electric bikes is their power. We have seen that these bikes are not as powerful as their gasoline-powered counterparts. Thirdly, since this is just a concept, so it is highly unlikely that we will be able to see this bike in showrooms in near future.
Accessories
Not much information is available about the accessories of RC-E concept, a 250-sized supersport machine. In its press statement, Honda announced that the all-electric RC-E concept pursues the joy of riding because its ride is both powerful and smooth. The power source of this bike is removable. The style of this bike bears the marks of Honda’s brilliance with the lines uninterrupted by the LED projector headlight fitted in the intake of the nose. Ohlins TTX’s suspensions are used in the front and rear ends to make the RC-E powerful. This bike is powered by an electric motor, which was used by Honda in its first hybrid car named Honda Insight.
Price and availability
Honda has recently announced that it will unveil the RC-E concept during the December 3-11 Tokyo Motor Show. The company did not say anything on this price of this electric bike which has been designed for racers. Since, the RC-E is a concept model, it is expected that the bike would take some years to go into the production model. It is likely that Honda would make some announcement regarding the price and availability this powerful and stylish bike during the Tokyo show.
