Images of 2013 Maserati GranCabrio MC Stradale leaked ahead of Paris showing

The 2013 Maserati GranCabrio MC Stradale is all set to make its official debut at the 2012 Paris Auto Show that starts in a week’s time. However, someone at Maserati couldn’t keep the new launch a secret and a few images of the new model were “accidentally” leaked on the internet. Looks wise, the drop-top appears to be somewhat alike to the GranTurismo MC Stradale with the obvious and perhaps the only difference between the two models being the convertible roof.

In the absence of specifications to go with the images, one can only speculate about the technology that the new model will be offered with. Even by the most conservative estimate, the new 2013 GranCabrio MC is expected to be powered by technologies similar to the coupe version with a 450 hp 4.7 liter V8 engine standing at the heart of its powertrain.

Given the additional weight of the retractable roof and the mechanisms that support it, the convertible might clock in a tad slower than the coupe variant though it will still ve a serious performer with a top speed of 186 mph and a 0-60 mph acceleration time of 4.6 seconds. The upcoming luxury Maserati model will be officially released at the Paris Motor Show 2012 along with a full set of official specs and performance figures.
