First look
The much awaited 2013 Infiniti IPL G Convertible was launched amid much fanfare during the 2011 LA Auto Show. The 2013 Infiniti G Convertible has been based on the G37 Convertible; however, the difference is evident as there have been changes made to the performance as well as styling. The 2013 Infiniti G Convertible comes with some interesting new features like all new special aerodynamic styling, upgraded exhaust system, suspension system, full leather interiors and 19 inch alloys that are unique to the car. The 2013 Infiniti IPL G Convertible sports a VQ37VHR 3.7L V6 engine that delivers 343 hp @ 273 lbft of torque. This is possible due to a re-tuned ECU that has increased the maximum HP output @7400 rpm for the machine, coupled with a high flow duel exhaust system. The 2013 Infiniti IPL G Convertible has a 7 speed auto transmission that has a downshift Rev matching as well as a quick-shift drive sport mode.
Suspensions
The car sports an upgraded suspension system that has the new Infiniti HF shocks and stiffer springs.
Brake system
Front bakes consist of 14 inch rotors with 4 piston callipers, while the rear brakes have a 13.8 inch rotor along with 2 piston callipers.

What’s good
The 2013 Infiniti IPL G Convertible sports a finely tuned V6 3.7 L engine that belts out 343 HP@ 273 lbft torque and an increased maximum output at 7400 rpm. This gives the car a much sportier feel that is well matched with its sporty exteriors.
The car sports a much more linear torque curve that has improved the maximum output to 343 hp@ 273 lbft of torque, this is an increase of 18 hp in power and 6 lbft of torque when compared with the standard version of the G37.
The 2013 Infiniti IPL G Convertible also has a great sports suspension system developed by IPL. This matched with the W rated, low profile Bridgestone-Protenza performance tires and an upgraded sports braking system give the car a definitive edge.
What’s not so good
While the 2013 Infiniti IPL G Convertible is a great package, it does have a few negative points.
The car comes with a limited color choice of monaco red and stone. The Convertible also has red stitched, sports seats that are standard irrespective of the color choice. The interiors of the convertible look like they have been inspired by the interiors of the Infiniti G range of cars.
The 2013 Infiniti IPL G Convertible comes with an automatic transmission and does not have a manual transmission model to offer customers who enjoy driving a manual transmission sports car.

Things to watch out for
Some of the problems that you need to look out for in the 2013 Infiniti IPL G Convertible are that the aluminum interior parts scratch easily and can spoil the looks of the car. The scroll also causes some bit of distraction to the driver as it has been placed higher up on the screen.
Price and availability
The 2013 Infiniti IPL G Convertible is expected to be priced around $50,000.00 mark when it hits the dealerships during the spring of 2012.
Bottom line
While the 2013 Infiniti IPL G Convertible has been based on the existing Infiniti G37 Convertible, it does have a lot of new features in terms of styling and performance. Overall this is a great sports car that not only looks good, but also drives great as well and is able to deliver a satisfying performance.
