Jaguar adds the cheapest XL to its repertoire

Adding another gem to its long list of wonders, Jaguar has yet again brought us a new asset, this one to magnify the XL series. The thing to cheer here is that it is the cheapest model of them all. This new base version is getting power from 2.2-liter four-cylinder diesel engine that produces 163ps and 295lb ft of torque. It goes from zero to 100km/h in 9.8 seconds and has a top speed of 130mph. It is the lower-powered version of the current 2.2-litre diesel model which produces 190PS and is already available for sale in Europe.

However, comparing it with the previous version, the power tally has minutely been reduced by 37ps and 27lb-ft of torque. However, the average economy and CO2 emissions are same as those of the previous version i.e. 52.3mpg combined and 149g/km.

In the interior, the cheapest Jaguar flaunts suede cloth and leather seats, centrally mounted touch screen display, electronic climate control, an 8-speed automatic transmission and Stop-Start.

The new 163PS XF 2.2-liter Diesel is priced at £29,950 which makes it the first XF model priced at less than £30,000. It is about £1,000 cheaper than the 188bhp XF model. The new lower version XF is available to order now and the deliveries starting in March this year.
