Jaguar debuts Speed Pack for XFR at the 2012 Moscow International Automobile Salon

.To reinvigorate its core offerings, Jaguar has made a couple of very interesting announcements at the 2012 Moscow International Automobile Salon including the introduction of a new optional Speed Pack for its already powerful XFR sports saloon. Introduced as a part of the revitalization process for its core range, the pack will be distinguished from the basic model both in terms of looks as well as in terms of performance. The Speed Pack for the XFR comes with a new rear wing and a new front aero splitter that does much to improve the aerodynamic scheme of the vehicle which will supplement the performance-specific enhancements to the model’s powertrain as well.

The Speed Pack for 510PS XFR sports saloon comes with a speed limiter that caps the top speed at 280km/h (174mph). To match the increased top speed, the pack also comes with a revised gearbox and engine calibration. The Speed Pack will allow the vehicle to make the most of its Intelligent Stop/Start and 8-speed automatic gearbox combo to provide an unparalleled driving experience as well as improved fuel economy.

The Speed Pack reduces the model’s emissions by more than 8 percent while improving its EU Combined cycle by as much as 11 percent. Along with the Speed Pack, Jaguar has also announced the launch of a new all-wheel drive system for the new 3.0-liter supercharged V6 offered on the XJ and XF models. The rear-biased system will boost the engine’s output to 340 hp while anticipating wheel slippage actively.
