Powered by a 5.0-liter V8 engine, the 2012 Jaguar XF outputs 385 hp and 380 lb-ft torque and comes with a six-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive configuration as standard. The model goes from 0-60 mph in 5.7 seconds and provides a 16/23/19 mpg city/highway/combined EPA-estimated fuel economy.

The XFS is powered by a supercharged version of the same 5.0-liter V8 engine used on the base model. This engine outputs 424 lb-ft of torque and 470 hp and goes from 0-60 mph in 4.9 seconds. The model delivers 15/21/17 mpg city/highway/combined EPA-estimated fuel economy.

A supercharged 5.0-liter V8 also powers the XFR, but this engine has been tweaked to output 461 lb-ft of torque and 510 hp. The model accelerates from 0-60 mph in 4.5 seconds.

With its distinctive lines and curves, the exterior of the 2012 Jaguar XF is very coupe-like and athletic. A very unique look for the exterior is achieved via chrome outboard air intakes and black finished mesh of the large lower grille with the aggressive shoulders, across-the-board roof, high-arched waist, low nose and louvers of the bonnet giving the vehicle a very dynamic look.

Less elegant details of the XF flagship have been smoothened out in the 2012 Jaguar XF and the range gets a mild styling refresh for both high-performance XFR and the XF models. Elements of the flagship XJ sedan also make an appearance via the sleeker, restyled headlights that stand out as the single most prominent change on the outside. LED bulbs are fitted in the bigger taillights around back while a less fussy lower fascia sits below a tad more upright grille up front.

The entire luxury sedan segment and elements of the traditional British brand are used in a unique combination in the Jaguar XF's interior tastefully used wood trim and leather upholstery complements the richer, soft-touch black finish buttons on the gadgetry in the cabin. Derived from the flagship XJ sedan, the touchscreen and standard navigation system are both upgraded for the 2012 Jaguar XF. More supportive seat design, 17 cubic feet trunk and sufficient legroom at the rear are among some of the other upgrades for the 2012 range.
