Kahn Design tunes Ferrari 458 Italia Spider

Having only recently proposed a special tuning for the Ferrari 458 Italia coupe, Kahn Design is all set to bestow their Midas touch to the Spider version of the model. The British tuner claims that they have added a few mechanical tweaks to the vehicle’s powertrain which include ceramic brakes and an upgraded F1-derived gearbox which should make handing the 750 horsepower powertrain an even more pleasurable experience for buyers. Tweaks made to the exterior of the model include the addition of a new wing shield as well as new front and rear sections though these changes appear to be extremely subtle.

One wonders if Kahn Design found the original design of the Ferrari 458 Italia Spider too perfect to be tinkered with which makes this tuning effort something of a half-hearted attempt! The only noticeable changes made to vehicle are the stunning brake calipers in striking Ferrari yellow that perfectly compliment the new Monza-created wheels on the vehicle (the rear gets a pair of 22-inch wheels and the front is laden with a pair of 21-inches wheels) that are offered with original Ferrari caps.

The model already comes with the original aluminum roof which glides out from below the flying buttresses and can be closed or opened in just 14 seconds. The hardtop adds just 25 kgs to the vehicle in comparison to the coupe though this is one aspect of the model what we think Kahn Design could have done something totally fabulous with but didn’t. As with all its tuning efforts, Kahn Design offers the vehicle with a range of customization options including having the car seats incised with an emblem or crest with the interiors being customizable to match one’s business or favorite sports team!
